some advice please agagin

Just been given a computer, it has a msi motherboard with a intel e6700 in it, i think that is a socket 775

anyway it has everything i need to get started apart from Ram

Can you recomend me some ram to put in it and could i possibly upgrade this processor or should i just wait till end of feb when i get my bonus and get a bundle

The RAM will be DDR2. You need to find out what model of motherboard you have and look up how much it supports and what speeds. I don't see much point upgrading a socket 775 CPU, especially if it only has to last you a couple of months.

Try and get hold of some second hand ddr2 RAM. As above its just not worth getting a better socket 775 CPU. If it is just for a bit of internet browsing and word processing it should be ok. Save you money for a new system.

Oh yeah, it was 300, before recently wasn't it not 100.

1000 now. It seems a lot to me, but I think there were a few scams so they raised the bar.

It went from 350 to a 1000 at the beginning of this year.
