Okay I got my Q9550 up to 3.4ghz 400mhzx8.5. prime stable for 30 mins now so i want to see how much further I can go.. Before i do i want to post some bios settings to make sure im not doing something bloody stupid.

Current temps: 52, 48, 47, 50

Edit: Pics in a min, having problems with hosting.

Crap I cant get the pictures sorted, old school time..

From AI Tweaker:
CPU Ratio Setting: Auto
FSB Frequency: 400
PCIE Frequency: 100
FSB Strap to North Bridge: 400MHz
DRAM Frequency: DDR2-1066MHZ
(ive left memory settings on auto except for voltage to 2.2)
CPU Voltage: 1.15
CPU GTL Voltage Reference(0/2): Auto
CPU GTL Voltage Reference(1/3): Auto
CPU PLL Voltage: Auto
FSB Termination Voltage: Auto
NB Voltage: Auto
NB GTL Reference: Auto
SB Voltage: Auto
PCIE SATA Voltage: Auto
Load-Line Calibration: Auto
CPU Spread Spectrum: Auto
PCIE Spread Spectrum: Auto
CPU Clock Skew: Auto
NB Clock Skew: Auto
CPU Margin Enhancement: Optimized

And from Advance>Cpu config:

CPU Ratio Setting Auto
C1E Support: Disabled
Max CPUID Value Limit: Disabled
Intel(R) virtualization Tech: Disabled
CPU TM Function: Enabled
Exectute Disable Bit: Enabled
Intel Speedstep Tech: Enabled

I initially had the voltage quite high (At 1.2, based on the nearly 1.3 it had been automatically set to), brought it down to 1.15 and its still stable and hottest core @ 46 degrees.

If anyone can have a look at the settings and tell me where im going wrong if anything I would greatly appreciate it.

And if its okay, what do i do next? I guess i push up the FSB somewhat but how do i keep the ram at 1066? Or should i try and push that higher too?

Thanks :)

Had a read through that thread but didnt really answer much for me :(

Ill ask a few questions perhaps someone can help :)

Obviously ive clocked the fsb up to 400, but i didnt really understand the fsb strap to north bridge setting, though cob mentioned in that thread that setting it to lowest possible to give the best memory frequency something. But i also remember seeing someone about synchronous vs asynchronous settings so is me having my ram clocked to 1066 a bad thing?

Another thing I read i shouldnt be leaving voltage settings on auto, but how do i know what to set them to if I dont leave them on auto?

I dont really know where i got the 1.15 cpu voltage from but it bsod'd entering windows on 1.10 so im assuming 1.15 is okay?

Sorry if these are noob questions :( Hope someone can share some knowledge.

Many thanks

Ran prime to tax all 4 cores (on the first one). Ran fine for 30 mins. I wanted to see how much i could increase it by before doing a longer test.. But I wanted to get some answers first to try and understand this a bit better.
