I will be purchasing the Lian-Li PC V2100 PLUS case…which I will be using all the hard drive bays available in this case (12 in total). I just can’t make my mind up on which PSU to buy to go with it.

My other components are

X2 Dual Core 3800
Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 nForce4 Ultra
Gigabyte GF 7600GT Turbo SLI 256MB
2 GB OCZ Platinum 3200
PSU at the moment - Antec 480w Neo Power

PSU's i have looked at but can't make my mind up.

Seasonic M12 Modular 600W
Zalman ZM600-HP Heatpipe Cooled 600W
Corsair HX 620W
Enermax Liberty 620W
OCZ GameXStream 700w
FSP Epsilon 700W
Tagan TG700-U25 700W
Hiper HPU-4M730 Type R 730W

Thanks for any help.

Come on people give us some help here..lol

I've been reeding up on these lot and i quite like these 2

Zalman ZM600-HP Heatpipe Cooled 600W (because of the heatpipe design which i hope is very silent, i know it as one fan but this should keep noise levels down).

Hiper HPU-4M730 Type R 730W (I have always loved Hipers cable design just that wins it for me).

My choice out of those options would be either the Corsair 620w, the Enermax Liberty 620w or the Seasonic M12 600w. All are modular and great quality, the Corsair and Seasonic are basically the same PSU.

Thanx for the replies lads.

I was looking towards the 730w just in case i wanted to upgrade to a better graphics card....but like u both say 600 is efficient enough for this system.

Seasonic M12 Modular 600W £117.49
Enermax Liberty 620W £105.40
Corsair HX 620W £117.49
OCZ GameXStream 700w £105.40

At these prices i've got it down to the Corsair & the OCZ. The OCZ seems to be best price but which is the better PSU?

Been using the Corsair for a few weeks now and very happy with it, the 12v rails just refuse to move no matter how much hardware I loaded them with.

The Corsair gets my vote based on personal experience.

I'm a complete and utter Corsair fanboy though, so heavily biased heh.

Honestly with it being so new it could be either, the way it handles the 12v rails is why I got it, after using crap from people like Thermaltake and Akasa in the past I was truly done messing around.

The reviews have all been healthy, the modular system is great, the same as all modular systems though, the power just does not move, sli cards, 6, 7, 8 drives and a fully oc'd system and the PSU didnt so much as budge on the rails.
I spent the better part of 2 days with the PSU apart and the motherboard on a tray testing it to death checking everything.

In complete honesty I think all the high end PSU's offer the same these days, Enermax , OCZ, Corsair etc. Sure you hear the occasional fail story but we never know how many are sold (Enermax Liberty springs to mind, a few fails are posted but there is always 10 people who love theirs). I'd go with the one you like the most, regardless of your reasoning. For me, simply I have massive confidence in Corsair so it was the logical (hah) purchase.

I haven't seen any bad reviews on the Corsair yet...is this because not many people have one or is it just one god damn good PSU.

I have been using my Corsair HX520W for a few weeks now and couldn't be happier. I only heard HX620W is better. The PSU got strong +12V rails, 80+ efficiency, quiet, and flexible modular connections. Plus, it is a Seasonic build and with 5 year Corsair warranty. You can't go wrong with it. :D

i might still be happy with my corsair PSU, but it could be the thing giving me all the problems with my PC atm. Refused to post the last few days and nothing i did could get it to POST. Posted tonight straight away after leaving it unplugged for 2 days, then after a restart its dead again. See my thread in general hardware.

Im gonna test with a cheapy PSU and other components in the next few days

If the Corsair and the Seasonic are almost identical then either of those will be just the ticket. I have a Seasonic S12 600W and it is a little beauty. You just can't hear it at all, and the rails are rock solid.

So, thats another vote for the Corsair/Seasonic :)
