Hey guys,

I'm looking at upgrading my system and I'm kinda stuck on what type of graphics card I should get... I want to be able to buy something that will last for a long time, so I won't need to upgrade in 6-12 months.

I've been looking at, Asus GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI, but I've been advised to stay clear of this card and aim towards 8800 GTS/GTX.

Is there a reason why and what card you suggest? I'm thinking of going to SLi or having the option to, so what would be the best option?

I want to be able to run at max resolution and settings on all current games, hopefully on 1 of these monitors once I have decided which one I will go for, think I'll go for BenQ in the end tho.

BenQ FP241W 24"
Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP-HC 24"
Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP 24"

For a 24" monitor I'd recommend an 8800GTX, it seems on par/slower than the 8800GTS 512 at lower res but the bandwidth of the 8800GTX due to its bigger 384bit inerface really helps at higher res especially if you wanted AA :).

It's basically the same as the 8800GTS 512 (which nvidia are EOL'ing in a hope to try and sell the identical 9800GTX :D)

At 24" the 8800GTX has awesome bandwidth, even more so if you like to use lots of AA/AF.

BFG are great, as they give a lifetime warranty, but the cheapest will do, as they are all the same cards at the end of the day, just the length of the warranty's, and what software you get differs, as well as the pic, and name on the cooler :p, so id just get the XFX as posted above, as that is an amazing price for such a high end card. :)

Oh, right... I was just checking out the specs and the BFG looked slightly better so that is the main reason I put that one down, I didn't bother looking at the price...

Well, I'm building a new system... so hopefully everything will work!

I'm buying this PSU:
Enermax Infiniti 720W EIN720AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU £107.99 (£126.89)

Choosing between these 3 MBs, I'm asking around trying to find the best one for my system.

Asus P5N-T Deluxe nForce 780i (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
EVGA nForce 780i SLI nForce 780i (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
XFX nForce 780i SLI (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
