OK have a mate who has talk talk internet ..and i think he has the " super router" ?...can it be used just as a modem and he gets his own router ? , as one can do with the virgin super hub .

thanx :)

Not sure if you can setup it up as modem, but what you maybe able to do is setup a DMZ to your new router.

i.e.

Talk-Talk Router --DMZ-->New Router-->Your new network
192.168.0.1-->192.168.0.2-->192.168.1.* (your new network)

But you may wish to switch off Wfi and DHCP on your talk-talk router as well!

I've not tried this yet, but I've seen it mentioned on Sky Boardband forums.

Nothing about this at all is super: http://www.trustedreviews.com/talktalk-hg633-super-router-review

Not sure I would use it as a modem either seeing as the LAN ports are limited to 100mb and not gigabit.

Is his connection fibre? I would just get the Openreach Huawei HG612 modem and use whatever router he wishes. Alternatively TP-Link seems to do some decent VDSL modem/router all in ones.

Yes you could do that.
I currently using my TalkTalk HG 633 with Wifi turned off but the DHCP is still on since I using a Unifi AC Lite for wifi. I use a switch so its only one cable to and from the HG633 and the switch.
