Long time lurker so my first post. I have always purchased my PC's from wherever but have always compromised on something mainly aesthetics tbh but usually paying £2k+ I would like to get a pc that has everything I want in it. My current specs are listed and have done me very well and with my limited knowledge I dont have a lot of room to upgrade, so I thought get a new PC. I have listed my wishlist specs also but cannot find any PC builders that have my specs that I want. Its either the case or the components are not White which is what I want. I want good airflow and my PC sits against a wall so venting out the back might be a problem

Current PC

PSU: MSI 850W ATX MAG A850GL

A few Lian LI fans

Its Mainly used for gaming and web browsing sometime watch movies. I game in 1440P atm

I have never built my own PC and have very limited knowledge about all the parts especially motherboards. How easy is it to build yourself? I know there are build vidoes even good ones on here but am somewhat worried about building incase I *** something up..

Welcome any advice on the build but CPU and GPU is what I wouldnt swap out and should I give it a go and build my self and have evertyhing I want this time round?

Thanks all

XFX make rx9070xt in white available from other retailers.
6400mhz wont nake any difference over standard 6000mt memory.

Building is fairly easy but I would defintly look at some of the you tubers like toasty bros, jayz two cents or linus for there build guide videos.

Not a big deal at all. The CPU and heatsink are the bits you have to be careful and take your time. If you buy a case that you have to add the fans that will be more tricky/fiddly and important to read the instructions RE: ARGB/RGB and plan that part out before you purchase to ensure everything is compatible and you can synch it without needing loads of software/hardware fan controllers and the like.

This is two alternative £2k builds.

RAM slots are black on the board:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,782.88 (includes delivery: £0.00)

but CPU and GPU is what I wouldnt swap out
It is worth looking at the nvidia options, unless you really want AMD for some reason, especially since harvesting offers on white parts can save you a lot of money.

Not much price difference between the 7800X3D and 9800X3D at OCUK, but it did get closer to the budget on this one.

Thats great, thanks for the replys and the suggestion on parts really helpful. I think I will go with the Antec case and have a go at building myself. Will post an update once its built and running...hopefully :D

Top tip if you test the barebones build outside of your case to catch any early problems don’t forget you need to short the power switch on the motherboard - some idiots forget to do that and wonder why it doesn’t boot. I mean know how silly can people be …

Just another quick question... I have 2 M2s drives in my pc one of which has my steam and all my games on seperate from the OS drive. I assume I can just take that out and put into new pc?

So long as your board has enough M.2 slots and there's no encryption (Bitlocker, etc) on the drive. Be careful if you do that before the OS is installed. It is usually best not to, just so that you avoid formatting/installing Windows on the wrong drive, or Windows putting stuff on it (you can also temporarily disable them in the BIOS, if that's more convenient).

If you're air cooling, go with the Phantom Spirit rather than Peerless Assassin.

Honestly, if you can build Lego and use a screw driver, it's not that challenging. Just watch some YouTube videos before you start so you're comfortable with the general idea (LTT is a good shout).
