Hi all I have just sold my P4 3.2 & Asus P4C800-E Deluxe board for £100 and brought a AMD 3800+ (Venice) & DFI NF4 Ultra for £30, the only problem is I need a new VGA card as I currently have a ATI Rad 9700 Pro AGP and my new board is PCi-E.

This is my current memory

Do I need new memory, I want to OC this system as much as I can on AIR cooling.

Also my PSU is only a 300w Jeantech so do I need to do something with this.

I have about £110 to play with, please note all above prices are GBP.

P.S A member on another forum is selling
2 x 1gb of some OCZ DDR400 RAM (Platinum?)
Antec Modular 550W PSU
A PCI-E 7900GT 256 mb (XFX).

I have sent him a email asking for prices, would any of these items benefit me ?

No, your current memory will do as it's DDR. The PSU might be nice as would be the graphics card.

Will I get a good OC with my memory as I have a high performance pair and a value pair, also I was thinking of upgrading to Vista.

Also does this board only support DDR ?

The CAS 2.5 is better, of course, as AMDs prefer tight latency over high clockspeed. However, on second look perhaps you should go for the OCZ RAM you mentioned since moving to 2 GiB would be a good idea.

Any CAS3 or below DDR400 should do the trick. You can get crazy RAM in speeds faster than that but the cost doesn't make sense for an older rig such as that.

When you say CAS3 or below is the lower the better, in other words is CAS1 the best ?

Its ok I dont really understand this CAS as the screen shot of my memory says CAS2, CAS2.5 & CAS3 so what is it ?
