Some AV advice needed

I am trying to find the best solution which would enable me to playing all my mp3's over the stereo in another room.

I did not want to have to have a whole monitor/pc set up sat in the living room , but can't think of another way to do it.

Had looked at the Silverstone media box's , but can't afford £500 just in a case.

Anyone had a smilar dilema ,or any idea's ?
