Some BIOS niggles

Hey everyone,

After my ram swap from generic stuff, I now have the ram @ 1000 5-5-5-12 with my 3.2 (400*8) overclock.

Sitting with this o/c for a bit as it runs nice and cool and more importantly, very quiet with my AF7Pro. All on less than stock volts mind.

I just have a quick question:

As I have bumped the fsb a bit, I thought I had to kinda lock my pci-express frequency, at least I recall having to do that with my previous setup. Currently in the BIOS it is shown as "Auto" but when i change this setting to a hard value of "100" which is what it should be, my setup bombs out??

Anyone else had this grief before? especially with Gigabyte stuff?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I've never had a problem like that before, it could be a problem with your motherboard trying to force the PCI-E frequency.

To be honest, if it's working fine on auto without any instability, then it's best just to leave it like that, you're certainly not losing anything if the PCI-E frequency is slightly overclocked and it's all stable.
