Some build advice please.. for a novice...

Hi,

I am just putting together a m-atx box. I have installed the board, cpu, cpu fan, ram, PSU,HDDs and DVD drive. I have not connected up all the sockets like the USB etc. I would like to boot up to check that my CPU and RAM are working. Can I turn it on to hopefully get the BIOS startup or do I have to connect up all the interface wires first?

Oh BTW this is subject to my PSU thread be sorted OK.... But I think I am getting there...

Your board will boot without usb cables, but will need as a bare minimum, the psu connections and the connections from the case for switching on, i.e. the power on lines and the reset lines for good measure.
