Just had a long conversation with some guys on the phone at Apple... Not sure if this is new news, but not seen it posted anywhere:

  • The lowest spec machine has 1 .5GHz SATA interface. This is to do with the fact that the whole system board is actually a 'downgrade' from the late 8 15" entry level MBP (i.e. no 3d graphics card). I didn't ask, but what happens if I buy a SSD option with my MBP?
  • The 2.66 and above have a 3Gbps interface irrespective of the HD chosen. This means for the price difference between the old entry level MBP and the new medium- level MBP, you get 2.66 vs 2.4 GHz, 2Gb more RAM, 320 vs 250 Gb HD, better scren, better battery, SD over express card slot.

Can anyone with a new Pro confirm any of the above?

Thanks

Yes but if someone with this model can confirm, we will have something approaching an answer....
