Some CSS Help

I'm a complete beginner at CSS so go easy on me. I'm trying to reproduce this in css/html. I've started off but now I'm on the navigation. From what I understand using a list is a good idea for a nav? I'm not quite sure how to make the list look like the photoshop mock up. Any help would be great thanks.
