My Dad's quite into fish (he has 7 tanks, one of them 8ft long!) and wanted to post some pics of them on some fish forum.

As I love experimenting with different types of photography, I was happy to oblige. :) Here's what I managed to get:

All shots were taken on a 450D with the kit 18-55mm IS lens.

It's actually quite hard to get decent shots of fish. For a start you have to deal with reflections on the tank, while the inside of the tank is fairly dark. It doesn't help that fish never stay still.

Anyway, I'm quite pleased with what I got. Any tips for when he inevitably wants some more taking?

I've had very limited success with fish, these put all my efforts to shame. The fact that you can't do angled shots due to distortion makes it difficult, and as you say the lighting isnt always that great (and fish don't stay that still!).

Excellent effort :)
