:) Enjoy!

Nice series so far, looks like a nice day out as well. As for CC here goes:

#1
Background is a bit too busy (ice cream van, gas tank, tree, fencing) which all distracts from the subject. There's no real sense of motion on this one either (e.g. wheel blur, mud getting kicked up etc.)

#2
Exposure is good, the pose is good, the shadows cast don't inhibit the image, your shutter speed has captured the motion of the front wheel well
The fence is a major distraction though, the guy's gloves look a little soft, as does the helmet area - could maybe do with a very subtle boost to the sharpening

#3
Cracking frame, the sky looks a tad blown out but am sure some PP work could help you out here. The antenna and heads in the bottom right should be removed. The chap in the lower left gives the scene a sense of scale and height.

Two? I see three...

#1 has far too much wasted space. It's not exciting enough to warrant showing where the rider is headed or what's around him and I'm drawn more to the crowd in the background and the white tank behind the rider's head than I am to the bike.

#2 is much more dynamic, but feels again like there's a lot of wasted space. A closer crop would make this really stand out. And I know it's not your fault, but having the section of netting covering the bike is really distracting. Just needed to be shot from a slightly different viewpoint and a little bit later in the air.

On first impressions #3 seems like a great shot of the action, but then on closer inspection it falls down. The distracting elements at the bottom of the frame are drawing my eye away from the riders and the image seems a little flat and underexposed. Perhaps you could crop the rider to the left out of the shot and concentrate on the other two?

And is it my eyes or are these shots all a bit fuzzy?

If it were me, first shot could use a lot more contrast, and the rider just looks a bit sedate, like he's trundling along, probably because he's sat down.

second one i think is spoiled by the green fence, but there's not a huge amount you could have done about that. be interesting to see what the original is like because i'm not sure the crop works, but that might be because it's too big to fit on my screen.

third one is definately my favourite. the composition definately works well, i'd be tempted to get rid of the guy on the left of the frame, i dont think he is adding much to the image. shame there isn't more detail in the riders, fill or flash or hdr?

I think you may have benefitted from faster shutter speeds all round for crisper images but that's just me.

good effort anyhoo

Thanks for the critique guys.

As for the focusing problem the lens I was using is a **** 55-200mm external focusing second hand thing as that was all I could afford at the time, and the focusing has never been spot on. Especially at 200mm (last one for example)

not my kinda border but it's cool, I see you've made the colours richer :) Nice one!

Very quickly...

1. too messy, DoF either needs to be less to blur the background more, or Pan with a longer Shutter Speed to get more "motion".

2. Nice, but spoiled by a fence.

3. Could do with a big brst of Fill in flash to light up the fronts of the riders/bikes.

pretty good still though.
