Not sure how many of you will have seen this, but i'll throw it out there for those who haven't...
Basically, there is a leaked nvidia driver that seems to give silly ppd on the new p5900 series WUs. I have downloaded the driver and installed it on an experimental Server 2008 install to test it out, and the points it generates is wwaaayyy higher than that of the 180.60 drivers i was using on Vista.
I have posted in the thread to ask whether the results returned by the lcinets running on this driver would be valid - i dont really see a reason why not, but id rather find out than waste time! Temps seem about the same as a priority adjusted client, although there is a much more frequent (and in my opinion) more annoying buzzing coming from the card.
Im not sure how reliable the drivers are - they are from a source that comes up occasionally in the graphics card section of OCuK - i gave them a quick virus scan and found nothing wrong. Obviously you use these at your own risk - i have no idea how stable they are/if they will cause damage to hardware etc. However, i thought some of you would like to have a play, if only to see your card pull silly ppd!
