hi, i just purchased a second hand apple power mac G3 which i was hoping to refurb and give to my dad. he like doing video and photo editing, which i know with a 400mhz cpu isnt going to be mind blowing, but he has never used a mac (neither have i) and would like to give it a try. the problem is, all the software i come across needs os x 10.5.* or higher, but the G3 will only go up to tiger 10.4.*. so does anyone have any suggestions to programs that would be suitable for this os and/or where i might get them?

like i said, i have no knowledge on macs, so i dont really know what is out there for them so any advice would be appreciated, i have read that final cut and imovie are good, but the versions i can find need a G4 or higher with OS X 10.5.*.

Its not going to cut it, is seriously out of date (1997-99), and I think you are wasting you and your dads time on this.

Don't bother.

I can only echo what the others have said, unfortunately I think you've wasted your money on the G3 :(
