Im pretty new to linux but i learn fast and have an interest and need to learn about it.

Firstly are there any good known pages that are linux tutorials other than creating directories and moving files and stuff. I am into more server side things and am meant to be learning about LDAP Authentication for a VPN setup from an office to the Boss's house.

Also some tutorials for samba setup and uses wouldnt go a miss either.
cheers in advance.

Whoa there Billy boy, walk before you run :) Asking the above is a bit like going into a Windows forum and saying "Hi, Ive just installed Windows XP and am new to it, can you give me any advice on setting up an Enterprise-level AD forest?"

The samba site (http://www.samba.org) has some superb documentation and how-tos (its on a par in terms of level, depth and comprehensiveness with the PHP documentation).

As for your VPN question, Poptop (PPTP) or freeswan (IPSec) are your options and both should allow you to use and LDAP backend via PAM. However for something like that I'd err on the side of a dedicated hardware solution from Cisco or Juniper, as by the time you take into account staff time on learning how to set it up/ configure/implement it you wont be saving any money.

the vpn is all setup its just the ldap that my boss semi knows how to use and will learn himself but told me to have a read about it. He can get anything working but i wouldnt mind understanding some of it myself.
