1. What advantage will a flashy headset give me in BF3 over my logitech speakers?

2. Is a proper mat a necessity for gaming or does a wooden desk work just as well?

3. What advantage does a 'gaming mouse' like the G9x give over a quality ordinary mouse?

4. Can the model of monitor make a big difference in your FPS success?

1. Better knowledge of enemies location from sound positioning

2. You don't "need" a mat, you can become adept with a wood surface, gaming is less about twitch reactions these days and more about out witting the enemy.

3. You won't believe until you try but a quality mouse definetely helps. Not just for the button programming but the sheer smooth tracking will help you along in games.

4. No

1. Not a lot, but some really nice headphones can give you a better sense of directions as Eames says.

2. Wooden desk can be fine, but whatever feels most comfortable for you. As long as you're not 'catching' on anything and have freedom to move, you shouldnt have any problems :)

3. For me it's a combination of comfort and accuracy, both of which my Deathadder are just fantastic for. I wouldnt go back to a 'standard' mouse.

4. Insofar as minimising glare and input lag, maybe. But imho it's not a big deal, any standard monitor reasonably well placed should be absolutely fine tbh :p
