Thought I'd catch up with a bit of online banking tonight and noticed my loan repayment didn't go out on the first of the month like it usually does.
After a little investigation it showed up as cancelled.
Having had a "chat" with an indian representative of the bank last week he had asked about Standing orders and DD's... basically he cancelled a few that were old and not required.
My immediate thoughts were that the fool had cancelled the wrong one.

Earlier this year I had a little dissapointment in that I thought the loan I had with them finished in April but then (somehow) realised I was a year out and it was April 2008 it finished.

Well I was wrong again because it transpires it was 65 repayments not 60 as I originally thought.
So as of 5 days ago I am now £400 quid a month better off.
What a great end to the year it is. :D

All I have to concentrate on now is getting the rest of the credit cards paid off and I'm home free / debt free..

Chuffed to bits
Andy :D

Put it aside... no chance... get the rest of debt on the cards paid off.
That has been my goal for longer than I care to remember.
I can FINALLY see light at the end of the tunnel.

The last time I had no ties to anything was when I was 22.... Just before I bought my first ever brand new car. :D ( a 106 Rallye )
It's all been down hill since then.
A years Salary will pay off the rest of the debt, but with living expenses and having a social life again, (tbh I've almost forgotten what going out feels like) it will take a little bit longer..
Maybe I just stay in and read OC for another year instead.
A mate is behind me now sat on my sofa playing Resistance FoM, so it's not all bad, at least I haven't forgotten what my mates look like. :D

Doesn't that mean 5 MORE repayments than you thought?

No.
Originally I thought it finished in April this year (60 repayments from 2002)

but then it carried on, so I looked into (obviously not very well) and thought I was a year out and it actually finished in April 2008.
However it turned out it WAS April 2002 that I took the loan out, but for 65 repayments not 60.
I thought it was a five year loan.

Looking into it properly this evening (i.e rooting through my paperwork and actually finding the original credit agreement instead of guessing the dates) and all is clear. :D
