Shame they couldn't buy up all the MOD land being sold off to build low quality cost new houses on it. A lot of it was un-touched wild land.

When I die (assuming world is around) ill be donating my money to charity. And charities that spend on this stuff move right up the list.

I just drew 10000 acres on map near where I live. That is a lot of land!

Are they rewilding, I hope so, it does appear that they are.

That's the plan but a lot of people are getting their knickers in a twist. Too much of the land has been desolated by grouse and pheasant shooting. Very lucrative so those involved are already starting to cause issues.

Some positive news there with the amount of our countryside disappearing under new-build 'executive' housing estates.

I'm not sure how a shortage of housing stock is "positive news".

This country is painfully lacking in housing which is causing rents and house prices to be through the roof, causing a significant proportion of people's taxes being funneled back into the pockets of landlords via Housing Benefit(s).

Not to derail the thread but that's not accurate. We have a huge amount of empty and sub-occupied housing. More than enough. Especially when you consider if the government sorts immigration out we actually have a (very) slowly shrinking population.

I agree with him. The amount of housing going up on greenfield is quite depressing. You really have to live in a village to know there will be some green space nearby.

Round here the little patches dotted about are being sucked up one by one for housing while doctors creek under the pressure
