Looking into a GTX 8800 from BFG but one of the Overclocked models. Found a 'version 2' model which seems to give a decent performance boost as standard from the standard GTX card and also it doesnt cost the earth too.

I was wondering the 8800GTX cards anyone has bought on here, whether or not they went for the cheapest model or whether they went for a overclocked model etc?

I'll be using a E6600 @ 3.4Ghz (maybe more if I get that Thermalright Ultra heatsink :D) with 4Gb of ram (possibly changing, another thread on that ;)) but did wonder for the money, is there anything better out there?

I've only got a OC Z 520W PSU at the moment, is this gonna be enough juice for the card and everything else in my system?? (Everything else in my system being, 3 hard drives, 1 DVD-RW, 4 120mm fans and a X1900 XT(at present) with the Conroe and 4Gb of ram...)

Opinions or comments dearly welcome :)

So judging by the spec of your rig and if you think £400 for a over 7 months old graphic card that doesn't cost the 'earth' then I assume you are an enthusiast, in that case I would suggest the pre-overclocked version maybe is an good option for you, which in real world the performance and price is not much over the stock version, I would think many people would disagree by saying the stock version could be easily overclocked to easily surpass the 626/2000 (which it could) but then the OC version could possibly go even slightly over.

I dont think it costs the earth, but I'm just wondering is there better value cards out there?

I know the BFG's that are overclocked do have a premium on them as thats the price you pay for a factory overclocked card, but in all honesty, I cant really see anything about as cheap, thats as fast :)

It will just be nice to finally get one in the PC and see what it can do :) Or is that, what it cant do?? :)

AFAIK the standard reference cards you can buy will overclock to the "factory" overclocked levels anyway. If it was me, I'd buy a standard one and use summat like rivatuner to overclock the nads out of it.
