I absolutley love the GTA games and I'm really lookinmg forward to what the next gen will bring in this area.

I have to say that after playing Motorstorm on the PS3 - if they were to use graphics and physics which are anywhere near this good then the game would be incredible :)

I hope they don't make it ultra realistic, as the cartoony style and fun element is always whats made it stand out from the rest of the games in this genre.

Anyone heard any more rumours? I know Rockstar are always tight lipped about theit games but it's still nice to speculate.

I agree, but this is a really subtle point and i hope Rockstar dont miss it.

i played san andreas on the pc and i actually preferred it to vice city/gta 3 on the ps2. it just found the experience and controls much more enjoyable

GTA on the PC is always the best as it looks much better at high resolutions but now with the HD consoles that doesn't matter :D I tried the Saint Rows demo the other day and thought the physics on that were really cool, especially when you blow cars up, if GTA had physics like that it'd be awesome, I imagine this motorstorm game has good physics

yeah but it wasnt just the graphics that did it for me. loading times were much shorter (compared to the previous incarnations on the ps2 - i havent played san andreas on it) and i found that overall control and aiming in particular was way easier with mouse and keyboard

Looking forward to GTA IV which I hope they revert back to a Vice City style game which IMO was far better than San Andreas.

Crackdown which comes out this month (or next) looks decent too although it's more cartoon (graphics wise).

I don't think GTA IV will be very pretty, they've never been bothered about that. It will be incredibly vast though. I hope they can pull off something special. I will be dissapointed if it's more of the same.

im hoping for something along the lines of multiple cities on different continents which you can travel to by jet or something :D

and of course another great radio/soundtrack

the only reason vice city and San Andreas look cartooony is because of the old game/graphics engine

when gta3 came out it was one of the most realistic looking games out there for the ps2 especially for its size.

i think....

wonder what the theme for the new game will be though. im assuming it will be set in modern times

i cant wait for it though, the gta series has just got better and better each time.

infact im tempted to go install san andreas on the pc right now !

I thought we were on like GTA VI now? Or do the ones on the GTA3 engine just count as GTA 3s..

I believe that Vice City & San Andreas is classed as GTA3

Not seen anything, is the X360 getting extra content though ?, sure i read that some where.

Yeah, Microsoft have signed a deal with Rockstar to have episodic content added over XBox Live. There will be 2 full episodes Rockstar have confirmed exclusive to 360 :)

It didn't look realistic on PS2 because it was limited to texture sizes of 64x64, which is the average size of textures on the PS2 due to memory limitations.

However, we are still quite a way off photo-realism anyway, so I wouldn't be too worried about that.
