I'm looking at buying a new monitor in the not to distant future but have realized I know next to nothing about them. It would be used for gaming, watching DVD's and downloaded films and web browsing. I'd like it to be flat panel but capable of high resolutions if thats possible. Looking at the 19" LCD section on the main website most of them state either and optimum or native resolution of 1280x1024 would it be possible to play games at higher resolutions than this or is this their maximum?
Are there any considerations to make with regards to HD or is this not commonly available yet?
