Well I might be getting an upgrade finally if money permits lol.

Now the current rig i have is listed below and the Watercooling needs a damn good cleaning out so thought that was a good excuse to upgrade lol.

So here are the bits I have chosen, I just need to know if they are good parts or not? Also if the parts will give a good boost over what they are replacing. I think the motherboard is expensive so if anyone could give me another option that can overclock well that would be great.

Oh and I will also be wanting to watercool this so assume will have to get new blocks but will ask in the overclocking thread when I know what parts i am getting.

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping - £212.98

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Intel X58 - £203.99

XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 XT - £153.99

OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 - £74.98

Thanks.

Thanks for the advice Vashiro. I have changed to the Patriot memory and I also think I might go with the Asus Rampage 2 as its a bit cheaper and seems an ok board.

One thing I was worried about is if my PSU will handle this upgrade as its only 620w?

d I also think I might go with the Asus Rampage 2 as its a bit cheaper and seems an ok board.

That board is the ASUS rampage 2 Gene, its a micro-ATX board. Don't get me wrong, its a good board and overclocks nicely - but the gigabyte is a proven performer (with all the 4GHz bundles its got to be the most popular x58 board on OCUK). Also - the larger board has more connectors (eg a third PCIx16 slot) so better for upgrading.

For the sake of £15 i'd go for the Gigabyte UD5.

Also an enermax 620W should do you fine.
