Howzit all,

Right, my old man has just given my the ceiling fan that came out of the TV room for my bedroom. However he won't put it up for me. :(

I know how to mount it. It's just connecting it up that I don't really know how it's done.

Anyone have any ideas, or tips, please?

I would personally pay to get someone in to do it for me, then i know it has been correctly installed and also it is safe. I wouldn't like to be in the room if it falls from the ceiling whilst in motion.

Yes, I would like to do it myself. Pretty sure I'm able to do it. :)

Putting in a ceiling fan is just as easy as installing a light fixture. There'll be a plate that mounts to the "box" in the ceiling and the wiring is just as easy as well. I put one in my sister's room in about a half hour from unpacking the box to relaxing in the breeze. :)

Do you have an existing box in the ceiling or do you have to wire your own?

ive been at gf's and then blackpool pleasure beach for past few days :D

does he try cyber with you? or is it just a phase hes going through?

Not too sure. My room just as a standard light at the moment. Peice of wire coming down with a bulb at the end..


Edit: Just looked...has a box...no wire..oops. :o

No wires are there in the box. meant the bulb is not on a long wire like I thought. It's attached to box.
