I'm a bit of a numpty when it comes to networking :(
So this is my set up TP-Link TD-W8961ND adsl router,TP-Link 150Mbps Wireless Range Extender (TL-WA730RE) and a 300Mbps High-Gain Wireless-N USB Adapter (TL-WN822N) going to my spare rig 2 rooms away
It doesn't need top speed just a good connection.

I can get them to work but I have 2 signals one direct from router which is weak and drops off, one from range extender which excellent strength, but they keep dropping off and swapping over one to another.

What am I doing wrong ? :(

messed it up all together now can't access range extender's home page, I don't know how to assign a ip address to it as i think i have disabled dchp. :(

Ok done it, I have a question tho in Lan settings now
I have Mac address, F4-EC****
type : static ip
subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
gateway : 0.0.0.0

Shouldn't there be an address in there ?

Here we go spot the idiot. OH Yeah ME!
done it all say it's working but oh no it isn't  says I have conflicting ip addresses and I can't seem to find them :o

All I want to do is this so I get a better signal.
