Hi guys
Just purchased an Advent system;
Advent SE2104 desktop, Spec as follows
CPU
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5700 @ 3.00ghz
Operating System
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium
Memory
2Gb
Hard drive
1TB
Optical drive
DVDRW
Graphics
Integrated
What i have done so far is to swap out the 305w PSU for a 750w and also added an ATI HD4870 512mb. Im also looking at swapping out the Asint 2gb 800mhz memory for maybe either 4GB OCZ Gold 800Mhz DDR2 PC2 6400 RAM OCZ2G8004GK or Kingston 4GB DDR2 1066MHz HyperX KIT (2X2GB).
on research of the mobo i have found it to be the
Foxconn "G31MX
Based on the Intel® G31 chipset, and supporting the latest Intel® Core™2 Quad and Core™2 Duo processors up to 1333MHz FSB, the G31MX unlocks the latest processing power for the integrated desktop market. This motherboard also includes the Intel® GMA 3100 graphics engine"
Chipset Northbridge Intel G31 / 946GZ
Southbridge Intel ICH7
Front side Bus 1333/1066/800 MHz (G31)
1066/800/522 MHz (946GZ)
Just wanted some pointers on how and where to start with overclocking the Processor, Have looked at the bios and it does have a FOX Intellegent Stepping of 3 selections and then a manual selection or default.
Reason for buying to replace the kids laptop they destroyed and was on Sale offer at local retail park for £200. Had the GFX card and power supply spare.
