I once again reaffirm my statement that having Kaz Hirai in charge is NOT a good thing for Sony. The man is so out of touch with reality it is not funny.

As for Shane Kim, he is also just as bad - I absolutely despise MS's future plans regarding cross-compatibility, Games for Windows, microtransactions, and etc. Microsoft is relying on the inadequecy of Kaz Hirai's strategy to keep their own nefarious plans in place and it is working.

Nintendo: two cheerful thumbs up from me, they aren't stupid and they're not trying to fool anybody.

I love Phill Harrison and his 'I have no concerns about the competion' followed by 'I don't think we are arrogant' lol
 
Those quotes show that Sony really need a kick up the arse.

Hopefully the first twelve months of the PS3's life will give it to 'em and they'll start to act like they give a damn.




I also agree with msr KNiVES. :p
 
the thing with those is tho that some of them were said such a long time ago. And hindsight is such a great thing.
 
Probably more than half of these so-called quotes are made up. I would actually like to see the actual original articles to some of the more ridiculous things apparently being said.

I've seen plenty of them turn up in articles on Slashdot.
 
Phil Harrison, Kaz Kutaragi and Kaz Hirai come off looking like utter *****, whereas Microsoft seem more laid back and not arrogant, but tongue in cheek.

As regards to "We're fully futureproof", the Xbox360 is, so how is that worth quoting?

because they said they dont need HDMI and then they release a version with HDMI - obvious really!
 
But the fact is they don't *need* HDMI, it was only public demand that asked for it. I can't wait for all these people to buy one only to say "It looks the same as Component or VGA".

It's not all about looks. HDMI does 1080p which is the only connection from the 360 that some TV's will be able to use.
Also HDMI carries the sound, a lot of folk will need it for their audio if they can't/don't want to use optical in their setups.
