Okay,

I have around £500 to spend on some new guts for my PC. I don't need keyboard/case mouse etc. but will probably want/need a new psu as I'm currently using the generic one that came with my case.

I do a lot of photo processing in CS3 and Nikon Capture NX and it's the latter where I really need a performance boost. I also use Autocad 2009 a fair bit. I don't play games very often although is probably more due to current spec than the fact that I don't like playing games lol.

Current spec.......

p4 2.8
Asus p4c800-e
2gb (1gb 2700, 1gb 3200 I know, I know..... ;) )
NV 5700le
120gb & 320gb Samsung Ide drives

Would ideally like to stay samsung with the hard drives and was thinking about the specs below.

I'm not sure if having RAID would be a help either?

Oh, and I'd like it to be as hushed as possible.

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-Bit OEM £58.99

Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard £54.99

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775) £14.99

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM £97.99

GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB24GB6400C5DC) £40.99 x2 £81.98

Asus ATI Radeon EAH3450/HTP/512M Vcool Silent 512MB DDR2 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £27.99

Samsung SpinPoint F1 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD322HJ) £30.99 x2 61.98

Sub Total : £398.91
Shipping : £8.95
VAT is being charged at 17.5% VAT : £71.38
Total : £479.24

Will this be ok for small overclocks?

Any alternatives?

Ideas for PSU's?

Those uses are ones where CPU muscle is required. RAW conversion/image processing are very CPU heavy so not much point to sink money to RAID when going on limited budget. (it's video editing which requires fast HDDs)
Also fast graphic card isn't usefull in them.

For basic workstation Antec EarthWatts 380 would be good budget PSU.
(and would easily handle mainstream graphic cards)
