i just built a new rig, running on air cooling. Im not quite chuffed with the ram. 4GB of Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 G - i know its not using it all as its a 32bit op system, but it seems a little slow. also it appears to be running at 400mhz instead of 800mhz - bios reports its running at 800mhz in dual channel mode but both everest and cpu-z repor it running at 400mhz! have i missed something? is there a bios setting ive missed. everything is as it came out the boxes (its a self buid), apart from i flashed the bios to curent version. anyone know how i can get more welly out of the ram? its timings are: 5-5-5-18

my basic spec:

QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700, 2666 MHz (10 x 267)
Asus Striker Extreme (2 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 3 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, nVIDIA nForce 680i SLI
3328 MB (Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 G DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX (768 MB)

cheers!

Your ram is running fine. CPU-Z and Everest report the ram speed correctly, its just you need to multiply it by 2.

As for making it quicker then it should be ok for a small boost to 900mhz(450mhz) with a voltage increase to 2.1v/2.2v

ok heres the thing - everything runs flawlessly, all my games. but colin mcrae dirt, the menu system gets stuck occassionally but playing the actual game, it flies along no problem. Ive got a brand new clean SATA II seagate barracuda 16mb cache so it shouldnt blip! there for im guessing its something ther than the drives performance.
