Some info on Ivy Bridge

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying £140 for a mobo (that was the price of my UD4) however some of the X58 prices are stupid. Take the top of the line X58 mobo - it's £435.98. I have heard of people paying £900 for a CPU but almost £450 for a mobo. Are we, as consumers really that thick?

You don't have to buy top end and nobody is forcing you to pay £300+ for a motherboard. Since X58 motherboards have become loaded with goodies compare this with 775 and you can see where the additional costs come into play.

I buy top end and don't mind paying a premium.
