Some lag with Q6600...

Am busy extracting UT3 files to install (purchased form Direct2Drive), and have noticed extracting these files (a few gigs each) causes the system to lag a bit.

Cpu usage seems to only hover around 30%, so why would it cause any kind of lag at all? By lag I mean when trying to browse the program menus, it can take like a second or two for Windows to catch up...

Is this normal? I got a quad so that the system would be able to cope with things like this without me being able to notice any difference.

This is Vista 64, by the way.
 
Thanks for all the input, however, I was not copying a large file - I was extracting them from one drive to another. They are 3/4 gig zip files.
