Bought extension tubes from Jessops today for £22, I can now get much, much closer with my 100mm Macro.
Here are a few shots of Chrysanthemum, these are un-cropped.
Let me know what you think?

Thanks for looking,

Very nice. I've just been looking at macro lenses and extension .

For £30 then seem a steal for my nifty fifty but I want a Canon 100mm F/2.8 USM Macro lens for £300...

Oh well, more to save for, 40D first

Hmm thats a good price.. Like concorde rules, i'm thinking about using extension tubes with the 50mm 1.8

How do these compare to the Kenko extension tubes?

Did I post a product? OcUK don't sell lenses, SLRs or extension tubes so WTF is going on I don't know.

Mod, explain???

Edit: Oh I remember now, someone was taking about a deal somewhere had on EXTENSION TUBES and he said he'd pick some up and I said get me some.

Wow, my god thats loosing OcUK money! Oh and btw, image is everything, people don't like hidden moderation, so it'd be nice to say why hmmm? :)

Well anywhere that sells extension tubes also sells cameras (I would have thought). OcUK sells cameras, so it makes them a competitor. Though I would also prefer modding with a reason.

That was the reason why the posts were deleted. Although I agree that leaving a reason would sometimes be nice, the Mods/Admins have a lot to do, so they often don't have time to leave a reason for every decision made.

I managed to pick up the extension tubes.. gotta be the most interesting tubes i've ever bought! They do wonders, i've only tried the 31mm tube on its own but wow im really liking it :).

50 1.8 + extension tubes = bargin!

Well done :)

I've got the same setup and you need a steady hand and a tripod or flash to get subjects in focus and free from blur.

They sell 8 cameras. None of which are SLRs and thus nothing to do with this thread.

Its the first time I think its been *too* strongly moderated. If we'd said "place A has a sale on all cameras" then fair play. But in a thread about SLR equipment? No I don't think its necessary.

And yes I know moderators work hard, but maybe they need more of them. I was a server admin once and I know it can be hard.

CR. :)

Definitely need a tripod for good macros. Flash helps but you can get away with long exposure times, and also use a remote if you haven't got one then use the timer.

I notice that when all the tubes are on the internal flash really struggles to reach to the bottom of the subject, casting massive shadows. I'm still waiting on my external flash to arrive.. would an external flash work well on its own? Or is a shoe cord needed aswell?
