I am completly new to Over clocking, managed to get some good advice from you guys and got my opteron 146 up to 2.7ghz any higher and PC wont boot.

Just wondering with my memory (in sig) should i do anything with that ? as it has not been changed or fiddled with. I play a lot of BF2 at the moment. and i know that is memory hungry.

Just curious as this is all a learning curve for me.

Thank you

Hi Man from Uncle, I know 0% about my memory im afraid, i have not altered anything. Wouldnt know where to even look. My memory timings, will be whatever they are out of the box i quess as i have not done anything to them. Just bought this memory as I believe it is quite a good make etc

In BIOS i get there figures:

DDR 1 512MB/133mhz ddr266
DDR 2 512MB/133mhz ddr266

Cas latency Auto
TRCD Auto
TRAS Auto
TRP Auto
MA Timing Auto

CPU-Z under memory tab

Frequency 180.0 mhz
fsb:dram cpu/15
cas# latency 2.5 clocks
ras# to cas# delay 3 clocks
ras# precharge 3 clocks
cycle time (tras) 7 clocks
bank cycle time (trc) 11 clocks
DRAM idle Timer 16 clocks

on CPU'z Under SPD tab,
I can choose slot 1 or 2 but the only figure it gives me are module size, nothing more.

hopefully some of you can point me in the right direction if i needd to change anything to gain more
