Hey all,

My RAM is pair of matched 1GB Corsair XMS2 6400 DDR2 800Mhz. The CAS Latency is 5. Im running them at 1.8V but according to the corsair website they were tested on 1.9V. I was wondering if i could change the timings to something faster without too much trouble. My processor is slightly OC'd from 3000MHz (200(800) x 15) to 3150MHz (210(840) x 15). The ratio is set to 1:1 in BIOS allthough in CPU-Z the FSB : DRAM is 1:2 or is this different to the ratio i set in BIOS. The current timings of the ram are:

5 6 6 19 24 2T

Theyre set in dual channel aswell.

Would i be able to get more out of this RAM while keeping it as safe as possible for the RAM?

Some other specs:

XFX nForce 650i Ultra Motherboard
Intel Pentium D930 @ 3150 MHz
Geforce 8800GTS 320 Stock

Cheers

Edit: According to the Corsair website the RAM was test and programmed at:

5-5-5-12-2T at 1.9V

If i changed the settings to match that should it be working fine?

Cheers

Hey,

OK cheers il be trying that. Will there be a noticable performance boost switching to the ones posted above? Is it worth changing the command rate from 2T to 1T?

Cheers

Nope you won't notice the difference.

If you can run at 1T then do so. But it's not often possible to do so at 800mhz.

You'll probably have to drop the memory speed down to ~700mhz for CAS4.

And you'd have to run a few benchmarks to see if you gain or lose performance.
