• President Fumiaki Tanaka of Konami Digital Entertainment stated that release is likely Q4 March 2008

• President Tanaka also stated, "As we are aware of the popularity and hardware-driving power of this software franchise, going forwards we are open to taking this franchise across to other platforms."

Yep, tho I expect Dragon Quest 9 on the DS to be the main attracting at the show.

I thought many claimed it's just a rumour spread by Konami to pressure Sony?

Its confusing this exclusivity thing, Konami, Sony and Kojima have all said its PS3 exclusive, so surely if one breaks it they's get the butt sued off. Im sure a metal gear solid game will appear on other formats, most likely the Wii and or PS2, but not MGS4 guns of the patriots. I thought when they was announcing MGS online it may well be a mulit plat, but again all three parties have said it was PS3 exclusive.
The meeting was for investors, so maybe it was said to increase there interest in Konami who knows!

And Kojima has already said he will be working on a project for the Wii because he really likes it. Also with the history with Nintendo it wouldn't surprise me.
