Right here, right now!
Ok, I'm still waiting for my zoom lens so the longest I've got is my Sigma macro lens at 105mm.l Still shooting through the patio doors as well. Bit chilly to be sitting outside this time of year :D

I moved the bird table a little closer as well.

The squirrel is definetly the best of the 3. The first is out of focus, and the 2nd seems like a snap shot. A zoom lens is definetly a requirment for animals.

Thanks for the comments, its much appreciated.
About the 2nd one. Can you explain what you mean please :) Is it the composition or the cropping or both?? The shot is straight from the camera... just a resize
I dont think shooting through glass is helping either

I got a call from the shop I ordered my lens from last week saying that they had the lens. I rushed down there on saturday only to find out some divvy git at the shop had booked it in incorrectly

grrr

The first one has the wrong focus point. The bird feeder is the first thing that catches your eye, so that should be in focus...

The combination of a relatively telescopic lens and the fact you're probably shooting pretty wide open means that your DoF is gonna be shallow - try either moving your shooting position or the bird table so that the feeder and the table are the same distance from your lens. Then both would be in focus :)

I really like the third one, although cos' you can't see his tail he almost looks like a bit of a rat :( Not too fond of the bokeh on it though - I prefer smooth milky bokehs

4 is great fun :D

Thanks for that. Think I was pretty wide open.

Stilll gotta get it wrong first to get better :)

thanks again for the comments
