Hi guys,

I'm looking to change from my huge Lian Li v2100B to a smaller case, and also try and reduce the amount of noise...so am thinking about the following to go with my machine (spec in sig):

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g) £5.99
Lian Li PC-A05B Aluminium Midi-Tower - Black £65.99
Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 VGA Cooler £16.99
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme (Socket AM2/LGA775) Heatsink £32.99

I would have no fan on the CPU heatsink, but as the heatsink would be directly next to the rear chassis fan i am planning on using that to cool the CPU through the Ultra-120 heatsink...

Thoughts?

Is their any need for the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 VGA Cooler, since the ATI X1900 already has a perfectly decent cooler on it, it will be hard to notice the difference to be honest.

It's currently the loudest thing in my machine by far, plus everytime i boot up it spins like crazy and wakes everybody up :p

Plus, £20...job's a good'en?

Its made as a passive cooler, with a fan addon as an option.

And if the CPU has not been OCed, then it would be better yet.

Nope, did OC but me DS4 appears to be one from a slightly dodgy batch that doesn't like trying to push the 6600 anywhere over 2.6ghz, so i just leave it at stock.

My main question now - can i have no CPU fan on the DS4 without it throwing a hissy fit? Can i just use the chassis fan or do i need to replace the case fan with a three pin one that i can plug onto the CPU fan header on the mobo?
