Some nice burbles from the ST!

That sounds quite nice, typically like a big engine, but i think an exhaust would make it sound even better :) What makes a cars revs drop so slowly after a blip of the throttle? that thing takes like 5 seconds to drop back to idle from a rev. Is it something to do with the flywheel? The clips quite funny with the 50 sign in there and ST flying past.:D
 
Quite like the small-blips at the start after he re-fires the engine & also the in-car sound is lovely, once you peel through the (excessive) road-noise you can hear that extra cylinder. The drive-by coverage is far to long & not interesting really. Certainly better than GolfGTi, VXR & Megane 225's.

Try to remember that a 4/5 pot engine will never compare to the sound of a V6/8/10/12(!), the only manufactures I can think of whom have done well are Honda VTEC's & Subura's Boxer's.
 
Bad road to use for that lol, it aint even tarmac, lovely big concrete slabs joined together ;).

There are better videos of the engine note (whilst inside the cabin) out there, really does sound like an old 5 cylinder Quattro :).

Standard mod like changing the exhaust would probably help a bit.

Too me is sounds like 1.2-1.4l been ragged, nothing special at all. The engine needs to be allowed to breathe more and hopefully it will sound better..... :)
 
The video's do not do it justice, the inside of the cabin actually sounds a lot better than what is on the video. Especially as they leave it on 5-6k rev's for so long. Though you do get to hear the lovely whilste of the turbo.

The burbles / engine pops do happen very frequently, especially when a gear isn't engaged. They pop at about 3k with no gear engaged. But do pop when changing too :)

Any one who wants to properly hear what it sounds like are more than welcome to come to Telford, and i will take them out :)
 
Sounds pants ! metallic and ringing and tiny.... My old RS1600i with a Janspeed sounded better...... And our Celica T-Sport on cam over 6200 is soooo much nicer.
All you could really hear was the tyres popping over the strips in the road !!!
Only sounded a little better on the ones I heard 6-8 months ago on the proving ground.............Shame no RS version
