some OS questions

silly or not, i just wanted to ask..

1. can win8 be tested without risk of losing win7 and everything?
2. can you install a 2nd OS to a 2nd HDD while other OS still running?(without messing with jumpers and everything, just so the HDD can be used elsewhere)
3. can you copy a pre-installed OS?
4. how can you copy a complete OS and re-use it?

The best way to test a new OS is to install it inside a vitual machine - use something like VMWare or VirtualBox.

You'll need a disk imaging package to copy an OS from one location to another - although be warned that if you're moving it to new hardware then the drivers will most likely get messed up, and there are activation issues.
