I'm trying to up a Q6600 from 3.4GHz to 3.6GHz but seem to have come accross a stopping point.

I've changed the following setting:

FSB = 400MHz
Vcore = 1.525v
PLL = 1.5v
FSB Term = 1.4v
NB = 1.4v

RAM = 800MHz on slack timings.

This boots into Windows but Orthos fails after 2 minutes on cores 2 & 3. Cores 0 & 1 continue without any problem.

Temps on 100% load are fine:

0= 47 oc
1= 46 oc
2 = 44 oc
3 = 46 oc

So I'm wondering what I've missed?

It's an Asus P35 P5KC.. I'll have to check later what NB increments I have. I have a feeling that the next setting after 1.4v is 1.5v, but I could be wrong. I'm not even too sure what the stock voltage is for the NB as it does say.

I'm also wondering about vdroop?

Cheers.. I'll have a look at that later - in fact I've just printed that off for the train home tonight..

I have family living in Whitehouse.. Big family ;)

Not so far from me then :)

Ok,I read through your notes - Superb! but didn't get chance to make any changes last night and test them. However, I did make note of some the settings I have:

NB voltage settings = [Auto], 1.25, 1.40, 1.55 and 1.7. So i'm a little worried about jumping from 1.25 to 1.55

Load Line = [Auto], Enabled, Disabled.

FSB strap to NB = [Auto], 200,266,333,400

and there is a "Clock over charging voltage" = [Auto], 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 0.10. Not sure what this is?

ot.. Do you know the Mullans?

ok I made a few changes as suggested above but still no luck.

FSB = 400FSb

NB voltage 1.55 (AUTO - bluescreened, 1.40 - Orthos failed after 2 minutes)

Load Line = Enabled

FSB strap to NB = 333

Orthos ran for 5 minutes then again, cores 2 and 3 failed.

I'm thinking that this isn't the Vcore or NB voltages and something else.

Any ideas?
