hey here is some parts for this rig i would like to buld for my brother

he can spend up to £260 on these parts can I improve on these parts with the budget he uses it for gaming and will be putting a ati 5770 in the future
 
Thingy had a better choice of ram and board, with your other parts that be better choice.

Windows 7!! Do not but vista.
 
if you're not ready for 7, use an old copy of xp or something.

i would recommend ANYTHING over vista. personal baaad experiences with it.
i would even go as far as ... no ... probably against forum rules *coughbitorrentcough*

Not even sure what is meant by "not ready for windows7" it does everything vista does, better, and more.
 
just thought. with an asus am3 board and 710 sothbridge. save yourself 25 quid, get a sempron 140 from "elsewhere" an have a go at core unlocking.

a 2.7ghz dual core for £30 inc p+p

btw, i am genuinely joking about the bittorrent thing. as bad as vista is, Ms put a helluva lot of effort into 7. dont rip them off by torrenting it

I think someone needs to inquire about this because as far as I can tell, this is only applicable to students who are at an educational establishment with a web address ending in .ac.uk and secondly, I think the offer is no longer open to UK students, but I'm not entirely sure...
