I'm trying to fix my cousins PC, they are all young so mess around quite abit. One of them decided to pull the plug out while the PC was on and since then it refuses to start up.
Anyhow, I've sorted that bit by simply resetting the CMOS, I can now access the bios BUT any settings I save, when I restart it will not start up. I am forced to reset the CMOS and then it takes me to the bios again, but any slight change in the bios and it will not start. Anyone have any ideas whats wrong?
I can confirm that the problem is not the ram, i tried one stick at a time and in different slots, I tried a different gfx card, I unplugged the dvd drive, hdd and soundcard, but its the same problem. The problem therefore has to be with either the cpu, motherboard or PSU, I think?
Spec:
500W PSU
AMD Sempron 2800
Abit KD7-G
1GB (2x512) Geil 3200
64MB GF4 Ti4200
200GB Maxtor IDE
NEC 3500 DVD-RW
etc
Any help much appreciated!
