How low can mankind get?:

Two people have been charged with conspiring to bring a child to the UK in order to harvest organs, the Metropolitan Police said.
Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55, and Ike Ekweremadu, 60, have been remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court today.
Charges were brought against the pair, who are from Nigeria, following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime team.
A child has now been safeguarded.
The investigation was launched after detectives were alerted to potential offences under modern slavery legislation in May 2022, the force said.

Sadly it's more common than people would expect. Luckily they seem to have been caught this time. It reminds me of the sad case of "Adam" who appeared to have been brought here and murdered for harvesting of body parts for medical potions:

There's a fictional programme called The Blacklist about an international criminal who has a Blacklist of nasty people (more to it, but that's the general gist). Each episode generally is based around one such nasty. I watch thinking that the stories sound far fetched, finish the episode, have a look on the news and then sigh at some of the depravity and horrific people out there. And they're just the ones that we know about.

One of my favourite series.

Big money in organ harvesting. Where there is big money, there are plenty of depraved people in the world willing to do it

I suspect they are intent on using them for their voodoo / witchcraft stuff, rather than running some sci-fi underground organ transplant operation in a terraced house in Milton Keynes, It's probably not for supplying Nigeria's equivalent of Dr. Christian Barnard... I mean, some of these sort of people still like to eat fellow humans' bits and bobs.

no surgeons or anyone arrested? who were the organs for?

Hades in post #2 shows one theory

Organ transplants are highly technical and need excellent, expensive facilities with long term anti rejection aftercare. Whilst no doubt some underground operation could be created to facilitate it, it may be easier to hide the donor's real history somehow and let legit medics perform the actual transplant. God knows, i just do engine and gearbox transplants... ;)

I remember that. Finding from his shorts that he'd been trafficked through a few countries. I seem to remember they had some suspects but couldn't get enough evidence against them.

The court heard the couple, who have four children and a house in Willesden, North London, hoped to transplant the boy's organs to their daughter who suffers from kidney failure.
