Just a quick Photoshop question, I have this image and I want to make the city skyline solid black and change the colour underneath, so that its a nice crisp outline of the city skyline. Is there an easy way of doing this Photoshop ?

Image Here

It's 3.5mb btw :)

Thanks for the help.

A fairly easy way to do it would be to use the paint bucket tool and with the appropriate colur click on the buildings. You may have to adjust the tolerance a bit but it shouldnt take long to get the buildings sorted.

After that do the same with the sky. You might have to use the brush tool to go over the clouds.

Image > Adjust > Levels

Make it a large contrast, you should be able to get those buildings jet black without effecting the sky too much, then just magic want the Buildings, Invery selection and delete the sky (but make the image called background when you open it into a layer - just double click it and click ok).

Easiest way of doing that was to convert it into solid black and white mate, image > adjustments > threshold, then you can play with the sliders to get the desired effect. Slap a very subtle gaussian blur on it to take the sharpness away from the edges et voila :)
