no 5 and 6 are nice, 2, 3 and 4 feel like they're a little too close to the subjects. Good pics though, would love to go to an airshow one day.

I think you need to work on your framing. In the F-16 shot the first one has the top of its cockpit chopped off which spoils the image completely. The Chinook sits in the image too high. If you had tilted the camera back a bit and centred it it would have worked better. The flying shots unfortunately dont work. The planes look isolated. I dont know what camera you have used or what lens' but flying shots work better when the subject is filling the frame.

Cheers for comments :)

It was hard to get a good position on the subject without getting lots of heads in the shot ....am actually surprised I got all of the in flight pics in the frame :p

Taken with a Canon PowerShot A700 (all on auto :o )

I was there as well and we must have only been a few meters from each other at times or the same area at least. As a lot of my shots i took are similar angles to yours.

I have to agree with the heads though and people walking into shots, as i did growl at times, as my friends besides me gleefully pointed out. Was bad with the static displays as some people just didn't bother looking to see if someone was taking pictures, walking right in front of the plane snapping away themselves with no consideration of others there. I would stop, keep clear then take my pictures once others had finished.

Nice shots though and hope you enjoyed the day as much as i did :D It might take me a week to recover from the sunburn and sorting of my pics though as ended up taking 1700.

Nice pics. Must have also not been far away from you both. Should have some pics up today ain't sorted through them yet.. wish i'd had got my 70-200L before Leuchars but thats life..

Couldn't stay till the end so missed the Lancasters etc... what was the Sunset ceremony.

Got 747 photos in total .. bit weird that

Still gotta sift through my pics from BTCC @ Knockhill & RBS Fireworks @ Edinburgh last weekend.. So maybe not today

Fly by from a solo Tornado at the base, saluted by the base commander, on what was meant to be full afterburners, in the end it wasn't on full and the Tornado was slightly late arriving.

Think it always is a solo flyby from a Tornado but can check with my friend who works on the base. As thanks to him I had advanced warning for some of the stuff being planned especially the tactical display and the pyros that were going to go off.

Just looking at your site.. can't wait to see the vapor off the heli blades! I'm guessing that was the Hind? Just left as that was starting :(

Oh right just heard there was meant to be that near the end.. just thought it was the Sunset ending.

Thanks for the visit there :) and i think i might have had the vapour off the hind and the chinook after the look at pics i had last night.

Will post some here in a different thread once i have them sorted as today i am recovering from the sunburn :(

Yeah the sun was strong for once. It did look a bit dissapointing going over the tay bridge, thick thick fog (would have made an excelent photo btw) but hardly anything at the base which was a relief. I luckily put on suncream.. the wife however didn't ouch!

See in Lewis's 4th image... Anyone know why the the bullets are blue, black and red tipped. I'd have though there would have been only two colours one to signify the normal bullet and one for tracer.. but why three?

Blue = inert

Dummy rounds. ;)

Some nice pictures there (and better than I could do no doubt)

Had to work so I failed to attend - was fun on my breaks sitting in the car park of Morrisons watching planes fly around :>
