Hey all have:

4300CPU @ 3.01ghz 30idle, 40load
Gigabyte p35 DQ6
4gb OCZ 2x2 5-5-5-15 Ram (2.1v)
700Watt FSP

Its currently at 3.01Ghz 335 FSB (1.36v, 1.39 in bios), Ram 804mhz (2.1v), the rest of the voltages are at 'normal'. ANYTHING above this I cant seem to make stable, I was thinking of trying a high FSB and lowering the multi down to see if there is any problems with the FSB structure in the mainboard. BUT im not to up on intel fsb volts etc, iv tried 3100mhz with 0.1v + on everything bar pci-e and it didnt work, so any pointers on the best settings for fsb, mch, etc and what kind of voltages 4300cpu's need to go faster would be great. As you can see the current overclock is on fairly low voltages with most stuff on normal so im thinking theres a lot more in it yet if done properly, if only I knew how ! :D lol.

Cheers

My bro has a 4300 & can reach 2.88 (tho he wont let me near it LOL)

I found a good way to find max speed:
*lowering the multiplyer to 6 (or the lowest) then upping the FSB to find the max the chip can do (as the board can prob handle 500 on air), whilst keeping the RAM at stock using the divider, use 10Mhz < death speed
*when max fsb is found increase multiplyer until max cpu speed is reached
*find max RAM can do whilst keeping all else at stock
*use a combination of max fsb/multiplyer/RAM to get the best, eg if RAM can do 1100, then try hit near this

Play with volts; as easy way is to run on 'Auto' although this limited my max.

Be carefull as I tried max volts on chipset & the board through a fit & would not boot for 2 hours.

Keep an eye on temps, some people worrey about 50c though I think the chip will throttle around 85c. Find the chip 'death' temp.

Test new clock speed with the latest prime95 (google it) as rund multi-core. Use Prime95 RAM test when finding max RAM speed. Then test with graphics running 3D in a window as this will heat CPU further.

See example pics of BIOS settings on my homepage (link under sig).

Have fun & don't blame me if it blows up :p
