Recently acquired a d-slr and as such am looking to do, and have done, some image processing. The problem is my lil old single core 3700+ struggles with the demands so the process is not as enjoyable as I imagined.

Which leads me to needing a new rig.

8gb really necessary? I would say go with 4gb for now.
Also go for the Samsung f3 1tb instead of WD Caviar.

He's photo editing so yes

However you PSU is overkill given the mobo doesnt really do SLI well, youd need the UD4 for that, or if SLI is not a consideration then dorp the PSU back considerably, even allowing for SLI the Antec Truepower 650W should be enough, is just as good, and almost half the cost
Not entirely sure why youve gone for a WD Blue and a Green? Very Strange choice, just get 2 Samsung F3s, doesnt have the 6GBps transfer rate but is just as fast as the WD Black and just as quiet as the green

Edit: So build could look something like this

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with HAWX2 PC-Game £157.99
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard £149.99
Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail £139.99

Antec TruePower New Modular 650W Power Supply £69.99
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) £40.98
Titan Fenrir Evo CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1156/LGA1366/AMD K8/AM2/AM2+/AM3) £35.99
LiteOn IHAS124 - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM drive - Serial ATA £12.91
Sub Total : £932.81
Shipping cost assumes delivery to UK Mainland with:
DPD Next Day Parcel
(This can be changed during checkout) Shipping : £12.50
VAT is being charged at 17.50% VAT : £165.43

TBH your case selection is OTT IMO but case is very much personal choice so I left it as is, cooler also seemed OTT so changed that to Titan which is excellent cooler for money
You dint include your total spend BTW and I couldnt be bothered to add it up, imagine this is marginally cheaper but has better mobo, PSU, gfx and HDDs

I hadn't intended too, initially went for the green, saw the 6gbps blue and added it without deleting the green:o

I take your point on the case, however I really want a high quality case with plenty of space. If there are cheaper options that match the corsair in those areas I'm all ears
