Netgear DGN1000, DGN2200 or Linksys WAG120N

OK after some research and plenty of comments slating Belkin I have narrowed my choice down to three routers:

Netgear DGN1000 150mbps Wireless N ADSL2+ Modem/Router [DGN1000-100UKS]
Linksys WAG120N-UK ADSL 2+ Wireless-N Router (150mbps) [WAG120N-UK]
Netgear DGN2200 ADSL2+ Wireless-N Modem Router [DGN2200-100UKS]

1. So, firstly will these replace the router that was provided by my ISP (i.e. will the phone line go directly into them)?
2. Do they work with XP and Windows 7?
3. Are they backwards compatible to work with G devices?
4. I have 4MBps line (I think it's broadband, it's def not cable), will 300Mbps vs 150Mbps make any difference?

Thanks

I would steer clear from Belkin, but that's just my personal opinion really, never really had any good experiences with them especially when it comes to wireless :(

no idea, it's a russian one so not the easy question of BT or VM, but they dont have cable here AFAIK and 4MB is the fastest line i can get :(

Oh, I see! :p

Well, if they use the same connections as we use for ADSL (RJ45 connections as such) and with the right connection info, it should work out of the box.

I agree. Any real world difference between 300Mbps and 150Mbps (i'll mainly use the wireless for streaming tv shows to a laptop)?
