Hi guys.

I've just upgraded my ram to these Kingston modules:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-039-KS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=144

My system:

Win 7 x64
Motherboard: Asus P5N32-E SLI BIOS 1903
Psu: Hiper psu 580w 4m580
Cpu: Q6600 G0 SLACR
GPU: EVGA 8800GTX 768mb

My question is how do i make the ram run at the speed it's meant to. Cos i think my system is not taking full advantage of the modules.

It's running at 800 mhz i take it? From reading around i am guessing i need to go into the bios up the voltage and do something to the FSB to make the memory modules run at the speed they're meant to?

Still not 100% clear, i'd appreciate any advice. Don't want to **** this up. Cheers.

OS is windows 7 x64 and the bios is the latest one from asus 1903

im blind and only just seen that in your first post sorry, checking now

also it says in your first pic that your are running fsb 1066

dual 400= 800 mhz

But if the modules are running at 800 mhz. Aren't they supposed to be able to run at 1066? I basically want to figure out how to make each one run at 533mhz

533mhz is supported and tbh if set to auto in bios chips/ memory should have altered to it, didn't think you had to manually add it, never have had to myself with asus, you tried it in bios to set to auto?

and maybe a m/b issue with some memory modules as well

quote "It looks like this motherboard was rated to work up to 800MHz on the memory. Memory is designed to be backwards compatible, so this memory should work, but at the 800MHz speed. The first thing I would recommend trying is shut down the system, and install the new memory. Clear the CMOS, and then try to boot.

If this doesn't work, install your old memory, go into BIOS and set the memory speed to 533MHz (the speed of your old memory) instead of auto. Shut down, and install the new memory. If the system starts to boot, go into the BIOS and set the speed to 800MHz. Doing this will force the memory to run at the speed the board specifications say it can run.

If these two steps don't work, you can try a BIOS update, but I would leave that as the last thing to try."

seems it may be seeing your old memory so try bios and auto with a clear cmos and re boot

set then to auto and see if it find the ram and speeds, it should

more good info for memory timings etc
